I am a mixed media artist drawn to diverse subjects and materials, whose practice strives to explore new visual and tactile possibilities. Currently I am exploring contemporary approaches to painting landscapes and urban scenes, working with acrylic paint on paper—to evoke place and atmosphere. My work seeks to give viewer’s a sensory experience through an exploration of the rhythms and patterns found in our world and a layering of colour and form.
I graduated from Sydney College of the Arts in 2001, and for over two decades I have been exhibiting in Sydney-based galleries, including SCA Gallery, First Draft Gallery in Surry Hills, and Comber Street Gallery in Paddington. These spaces have provided vital platforms for my evolving practice and allowed me to develop a dialogue with diverse audiences and fellow artists.
At the heart of my practice is a deep curiosity and a desire to push the boundaries of visual depiction. I am particularly drawn to the shifting moods and forms of the natural and built environment, using colour, stylisation and expressive mark making as tools to interpret and reimagine subject matter. Through this process, I aim to create intimate works that encourage viewers to slow down, look closely, and engage with the visual qualities of location and memory.
