In this body of work artist Judy Denby explores the notion that every landscape is layered with history and personal connections. The materials she uses are gleaned from her archive of maps of places she has visited, collected ephemera, discarded books and family stuff including her great grandfather’s religious writings. By ripping them up and including them in her work, she imbues her favourite and imagined landscapes with a layer of her own connections and history.
