Kathy McCombie

Kathy is an Old Girl (1974) along with her mum, daughter and now granddaughter. She only started dabbling in watercolours six years ago but has developed a unique ‘naive’ style. Her Fairies take over London was awarded Highly Commended this year by the Central Coast Art Society.

Kathy began painting her Travelling Fairies series during lockdown. Images on TV of the empty streets of normally bustling cities around the world, at the same time as she was writing a book explaining her granddaughter’s fairy door suddenly appearing, evolved into fairies taking over the empty cities!

There are 22 objects that appear in all Kathy’s Travelling Fairies paintings – see if you can find them!

Mandela, Hot air balloon, Flag, Astronomer, Ballerina fairy, Pixie walking a snail, Chicks in a nest, Peacock, Aircraft, Fisherman, Bike, Butterfly, Witch, Black cat, Balloon, Boat, Dragonfly, Fireflies, Owl, Chickens, Scooter, Pram.
